Coming to Paris during fall season is always a good choice. The city is buzzing with exciting new events, Parisian people are running to discover the last trendy restaurant and the light is turning gold…
Here is our selection of events not to be missed this Fall!
From Sept 21st, centre Pompidou will be presenting a retrospective of René Magritte, the famous Belgium painter with more than 100 paintings and drawings coming from private collection.
Another Belgian will be starring in Paris, Hergé, the creator of Tintin. A large exhibition will be taking place in Grand Palais from Sept 28th to this artist considered as “the father of the European comic strip”, a great occasion to discover his universe.
You could also admire the wonderful fashion collection of Musée Galliera until October 23rd, a unique journey through French Haute Couture.
At Fondation Louis Vuitton, the beautiful contemporary art museum near Bois de Boulogne, the all building has been turn into a “light laboratory” by the artist Daniel Buren. And from October 22nd, the fondation will be presenting the incredible private collection Chtchoukine with the most famous modern art artists such as Matisse, Gauguin, Picasso or Renoir (until February 20th 2017). If you are coming with children, the museum is right next to Jardin d’acclimatation, a fun park open all year long.
The first rendez-vous of September is Maison et objet, the interior design fair. The city of Paris is organizing the design week from Sept 3rd to Sept 10th, and the city will be buzzing with visitors coming from all round the world.
If you dream to discover hidden places in Paris you should definitely visit the city during the week-end of Sept 17th-18th for Journées du Patrimoine. Once a year private mansions and unusual places are open like l’Elysée, you might even meet the President!
More underground, Nuit Blanche, on October 1st, is also a great way to get into unusual places and to admire works from contemporary artists and unique performances.
And if you like contemporary art, the anual fair la Fiac will be taking place under the nave of Grand Palais from Oct 20th to Oct 23rd.
Dance and operas
Coming in Paris during fall is also a great opportunity to see a dance show, a concert or an opera during your stay.
We will be happy to book your tickets for an unforgettable evening at the opera house to admire the Swan Lake from Dec 5th, until Dec 31st. At Opera Bastille, don’t miss La Tosca from Sept 17th to October 18th and if you are in a rock-and-roll spirit, you could come to Paris for the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in October (15th, 16th and 18th at Bercy) or The Cure concert November 15th.
So coming for a rock concert or a design fair, Paris will always be a perfect destination in fall time…
