Spring time is definitely one of the best periods to come to enjoy the City of Lights. Take long walks along the river, get lost in the charming streets of the le Marais, have a break on a sunny terrace… Paris is showing up its best profile, spring time is calling you!
Here are 10 excuses to come and visit Paris during Spring 2016, choose your activity :-)
Spring will be artistic!
The arty Spring season in Paris always starts with Art Paris Art Fair from March 31st. This is the leading event in the Spring art calendar of the French capital, bringing together some 143 modern and contemporary art galleries from 20 countries. This year, South Korea will be guest of honour. The fair is taking place under the Nave of Grand Palais.
Another exciting event happening at Grand Palais is Monumenta, a magistral exhibition created by the Chinese artist Huang Yong Ping. As major artists did before him, he has a carte blanche to take possession of this beautiful space.
Then you can just cross the river and (re)discover the colorful work of The Douanier Rousseau. Henri Rousseau’s masterpieces will be on display alongside paintings on loan from the most prestigious international institutions. Works by Seurat, Delaunay, Kandinsky and Picasso will be interconnecting with this incredible artist.
Centre Pompidou will be presenting a large retrospective dedicated to Paul Klee from April 6th. This major artist from the XXth century will be represented by 250 paintings from public and private collections, a must-see!
Spring will be festive!
Coming to Paris, you must enjoy as well the city by night. Trendy cocktails bars are everywhere, have a drink by the river on the festive Berges de Seine, or just walk through the city to see all the lights shinning…
But there is also amazing shows coming up this Spring, here is the ones we could book for you!
The mythic Nutcraker ballet will be acting at Opéra Garnier from May 27th to June 14th. This amazing opera-ballet is the best way to discover the performance of young ballet dancers of Opéra de Paris as well as the Paris Orchestra and chorus. A classic but stunning show in the famous Opera house.
If you prefer contemporary dance, do not miss the ballet created by Anne Teresa de Keermaeker, Transfigured night at Théâtre de la Ville, beautiful!
Another great event will be the Paris Jazz festival, taking place as usual in the lovely Parc Floral, from June 11th. The perfect excuse to have a sunny afternoon with live music. For sure a great experience!
Spring time will be sportive!
Well, between 2 gourmet dinners and a chocolate tasting, you could also take advantage of your stay in Paris to be sportive in many ways! First we can plan for you a guided running tour with a coach/guide, an original way to discover the city…
But if you really like running, the Paris marathon will be taking place on April 3rd. So take your running shoes and here you go for this sportive adventure through the city.
And if you are more in a supportive mood, you could also come to Paris to attend a tennis match during Roland Garros competition from May 16th.
